Techniques and concepts necessary for successful study and performance of the voice in all styles and settings. Areas of study will allow the student to develop a solid base with which to advance musical and technical skills. This includes: an overview of vocalists since the early part of the 20th century for analysis and inspiration, awareness of breath support and good posture, vocal exercises for sound focusing, concentration on resonance and vowel placement, registration and having a consistent sound, dealing with physical tension, how to practice and care and maintenance of the voice.
